Environmental Impact

GR5Timber Expo is an environmentally-friendly trade show.

In keeping with the material we promote - timber is a sustainable and renewable material - Timber Expo has decided to adopt a pragmatic policy toward environmental impact. Our aim is to minimise the event’s impact on the environment by optimising our practices in a bid to reflect what timber truly represents as a material.

Timber Expo is wholly committed to the concept of eco-design and delivery. Our goal is to: set a precedent for other trade shows and keep the environmental impact of the event down to a minimum:

  • All of the Shell Scheme stands to be used at Timber Expo will be 100% recyclable
  • All signage provided at the event will be recycled or re-used
  • Aisles and gangways will not be carpeted
  • All floor-covering used on stand space will be recycled
  • We are aiming to minimize the amount of display and packaging waste and recycle wherever possible. Recycling bins will be available during installation, the show and dismantling.
  • All Timber Expo documents are printed on PEFC paper using vegetable-based inks by a certified environmental printer. Full colour printing has been minimised and quantities are calculated to avoid any waste. Downloadable versions are preferred and our exhibitor information has been designed to reflect these aims.
  • We are actively encouraging the use of public transport to the show and will provide energy-efficient environmentally-friendly shuttle buses from the station/airport to the venue.
  • We will actively encourage car sharing wherever possible – especially if exhibitor colleagues are staying at the same local hotel.
